Here’s how the process of obtaining an athletic scholarship at an American educational institution works. The first part is where the athlete must focus on achieving the best possible athletic and academic results:

Achieve the highest possible athletic level: The better the athlete’s performance, the greater the chances of obtaining an athletic scholarship in the United States or Canada. A higher level also means a wider range of options to choose from. It’s important to plan athletic training sessions and competition schedules to achieve the best possible marks.

Achieve the highest possible academic level: It’s essential to focus on academics to reach the best possible level. This will increase the number of available options and may even lead to academic scholarships that further reduce annual costs. Preparing well in advance for the TOEFL and SAT exams is crucial.

The second part of the process is handled by Awex Education. It’s very important to contact Awex Education well in advance and start preparing early, as this significantly increases the chances of obtaining an athletic scholarship in the United States or Canada and having more options to choose from. We recommend starting the process 1–2 years before the intended start date in the U.S. or Canada.

We analyze each case individually, assessing the student’s athletic and academic levels, as well as their expectations and those of their family. Once the family decides to begin the process, we handle the following steps:

• We study each athlete’s individual case, including their athletic and academic levels and preferences regarding schools. We look for options that best match the athlete’s profile and the family’s academic, athletic, and financial preferences.

• We create a personal follow-up plan for each athlete, where we outline the steps to take, exam dates, preparation timelines (depending on league requirements), and short-, medium-, and long-term goals.

• We provide support for SAT and TOEFL exam registration.

• We assist in creating the athletic video, offering advice and guidance to ensure it’s effective — a crucial step since coaches recruit based on this video. We handle the final editing of the athlete’s video.

• With the final video ready, we create an academic and athletic profile for the athlete to contact track and field coaches.

• We start contacting schools that match the athlete’s profile and family preferences. We work with a wide range of educational institutions across the United States and Canada.

• We negotiate with each coach or school to obtain the highest scholarship and best possible conditions for every athlete.

• We present a detailed report with several options well in advance so families can make an informed decision. The report includes information such as school name, location, size, academic level, athletic level, price without scholarship, scholarship amount, and annual cost.

• We always offer several alternatives within the family’s budget so they can choose the best fit.

• We assist the athlete and family in choosing the right school, providing advice and guidance, while the final decision remains with the family.

• We handle the signing of the final offer with the chosen educational institution.

• We manage the academic league admission process (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA).

• We take care of the school admission process, including transcript submission, SAT and TOEFL score delivery, and all required paperwork.

• We arrange meal plans and housing for the athlete.

• We handle the medical insurance process in the U.S. and Canada.

• We take care of the student visa application for both countries.

• We organize flights and arrival logistics to ensure the athlete has support upon arrival.
