Frequently Asked Questions and Doubts

We know that considering the option of studying abroad can raise many questions.

In this section, we have compiled the most common ones:

If you have any questions that are not addressed here, we will be happy to advise you completely free of charge and with no obligation.

You can study any course in Middle School, High School, university, master’s programs, or even English courses. The minimum recommended grade is Grade 8, where students are typically 13 years old.

With an F1 visa for a private school, there is a lot of flexibility—you can choose the state, city, school, as well as live with a host family or in a private dormitory.

It is advisable to start at least one year in advance, as this allows enough time to prepare the procedures and exams properly, avoiding any unforeseen issues and increasing the chances of obtaining a scholarship.

At Awex Education, we conduct a personal interview to assess your level of English, your athletic and academic performance, and your motivation to take part in this “experience.” Afterward, we send a scholarship proposal at no cost or obligation. If the proposal is accepted, a contract is prepared, which must be signed by both parties. Once the contract is signed, the process to find the school that best suits the student begins. After this process, the final destination school is selected and will send us the acceptance letter needed for the embassy appointment to obtain the visa. At Awex Education, we guide you before, during, and after the entire process.

It depends on the state you attend, but typically classes start in mid-August or early September and end sometime in May.

Yes, you will be with a percentage of students from different nationalities, generally between 10% and 25%. At Awex Education, we make sure to work with schools that guarantee language learning and cultural enrichment.

The Ministry of Education regulates the recognition of studies completed abroad. You must enroll in a minimum of 4 mandatory subjects and complete your course with some of the many electives offered by the American education system. At Awex Education, we guide you at every step to ensure you know which subjects to choose so that you have no issues when transferring credits.

Yes, we generally work with the F1 visa. At Awex Education, we guide you through the entire application process to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Most commonly, an admissions officer from the school you enrolled in will be waiting for you at the departure gate. You won’t have to worry about anything other than finding your boarding gate at the airport, and everything will be organized upon your arrival.

Each student has an ideal timing, but in our experience, we have found that younger ages tend to get the most out of the experience.

The East Coast is the most popular in our programs, but it can be chosen according to the preferences of the student and their family.

It’s not ideal, but you are given the option to repeat a grade once before going there with our scholarships.

First of all, you should know that you won’t be alone. The campus will have medical staff and a clinic at your service, and you will also have local support to assist you at all times. All of our programs include a comprehensive medical and accident insurance policy.

Yes, as long as your legal guardians authorize it. During your experience, you will have several opportunities to travel and explore new places. The schools usually organize excursions and activities you can join, in addition to trips with friends and host families.

The schools give you the option to stay, although it’s common to travel with friends and host families, return to your home country, or even have your family visit you.

The beginning can be a little challenging, but you’ll meet people very quickly. In our experience, it’s easy to make friends and socialize.

Thanks to the numerous activities, events, sports teams, and clubs, you’ll find people with whom you share passions, helping you bring out your best self.

With your J1 student visa, you won’t be able to return home, nor will your parents be able to visit you. With an F1 visa, you can travel during any holiday period.

Although it is possible, it is not common, as there are few full scholarships. You should consider whether you and your family can make an investment of between $10,000 and $20,000.

We offer both options: staying with a host family at high school or in a residence at university. Each student is different, and depending on their needs and preferences, we can recommend the most suitable option.

On one hand, the J1 visa is granted by the U.S. government to a limited number of students to allow them to study in the U.S. for an academic year. However, students do not have the option to choose their destination, host family, or school.

With the J1 visa, it is the American host family who selects the international student to live with them for the upcoming year, based on the personality and interests the student has shared in their application letter. Host families welcome students voluntarily. Depending on the family’s location, a school near the host family is assigned, so the student cannot choose the state, area, or school.

The main feature of this visa is its cost, as it is an economical program for families with a tighter budget who want to give their children the opportunity to study a school year in the U.S.

On the other hand, the F1 visa has a higher average cost. Students can choose which school they want to attend based on the activities offered by the school or the state/area they prefer. After that, a host family near the school is assigned, or the student may have the option to live in the school’s residence. Host families for F1 students do receive financial compensation (though not very high) for hosting the student during their school stay in the U.S.

We offer both options: with a host family at school or in a residence at university. Each student is different, and depending on their individual needs, we can recommend the most suitable option.

This depends on each state. At Awex Education, we will help you complete your vaccination record properly.

At Awex Education, we guarantee your acceptance at one of our schools once we have evaluated your profile and confirmed that it meets the requirements.

At Awex Education, we guarantee significant academic, athletic, artistic, or eSports scholarships based on students’ abilities and the agreements we have with schools and universities.

The main selection criteria for admission are: being a high school or university student in your home country without having lost more than one year, intermediate English level, and a grade point average above 6 out of 10.

Please note that we only accept a limited number of students each year, so you will need to do your best before coming to improve your English level and academic results as much as possible.

Although it is possible, it is not common, as there are few full scholarships available and they require special talents. The average investment with a scholarship is around $20,000, including accommodation, meals, activities, and the course.

Our programs include residence or host family, meals, tuition, extracurricular activities or sports, and comprehensive medical insurance.

At Awex Education, we work with students from all over the world. We have offices in Europe, the United States, Mexico, and Colombia, from which we serve students worldwide for these experiences.

Any academic, athletic, or artistic ability, along with grades and English proficiency, are the main variables.

Sports scholarships are generally the highest in cases of high performance.

There are more than 20 sports with scholarships available, which you can find at the following link: (Link to the sports landing page). Normally, competitions take place during the fall, winter, or spring season for each sport, but there are high-performance centers where you can practice your sport year-round.

The scholarship percentage depends on the student’s skills and qualifications. It includes accommodation, meals, activities, and classes for the entire course. Medical insurance must always be comprehensive and is provided by the destination center itself.

At Awex Education, we take care of managing the documentation so that the course accreditation is a success.

You should have an intermediate level that allows you to communicate with your teachers and classmates. Don’t worry about not being fluent, that’s one of the things you’ll gain from this experience.

The minimum grade required to apply for our scholarships is 6 out of 10.

To study in the United States or Canada, we will have to take tests depending on the course I am applying for. Depending on the student’s level and the requirements of the course, we can take the DUOLINGO, TOEFL, or IELTS exam. With an intermediate level corresponding to your age, you will be able to take it.

British models are not generally accepted by universities; the most common ones are Duolingo, TOEFL, and IELTS. Any of the three is valid, although the latter two are more prestigious due to their greater difficulty and length.

The SAT is not mandatory but it helps significantly. We help with preparation through our English and math academy.

If the goal is to study in the United States, students generally take the SAT and TOEFL tests, and if the goal is to return to the system in their country of origin, this will depend on each university there.

To be eligible, you must have completed high school or a course that grants access to university in your country of origin. You will also need to take an English test such as Duolingo, TOEFL, or IELTS, in addition to the well-known SAT exam.

Fees will depend on the case but average around $3,500 USD. Our work guarantees cost reduction and the support relationship is maintained once the student is at the center.

The head office is located in Madrid, Spain, with representatives and customer service offices in virtually all major cities in Spain. It also has offices in the United States, Colombia, and Mexico.

Awex Education will never leave you halfway, will give you the reality at all times and will be honest about your possibilities, but without a doubt what sets us apart is that we guarantee the best results and treat you like part of the family.

Out-of-pocket expenses, visas, passports, and flights are the main ones.
