You should have an intermediate level that allows you to communicate with your professors and classmates. Don’t worry if you don’t have advanced fluency; that’s one of the things you’ll gain from this experience.
The minimum requirement is a 6 out of 10 to apply for our scholarships.
Another important part of getting into a good educational institution is the academic side, including high school grades, SAT, and TOEFL scores… If two students have a very similar level but there are significant differences in academic level, the coach will typically offer the athletic scholarship to the better student.
This is because students must meet certain minimums, so the academic side is as important as athletics in several ways:
- Sports acceptance: you must meet certain minimum exam scores to be accepted into sports leagues.
- To be accepted into institutions, athletes must meet academic requirements in SAT and TOEFL exams.
- You can even receive an academic scholarship that can be added to the athletic scholarship, resulting in a larger total scholarship. To obtain academic scholarships, you must have good grades and strong SAT and TOEFL exam results.
- Therefore, the higher the grades, the greater the range of options available to the athlete, and the larger the scholarship awarded by the institution.
Each institution or coach has different minimum academic requirements. For this reason, Awex Education studies each academic and athletic profile to find the institution that best suits each athlete.

British models are generally not accepted by universities. The common ones are Duolingo, TOEFL, and IELTS. Any of the three is valid, although the last two are more prestigious due to their higher difficulty and duration.
